CBS Classification

CBS Classification – Corporate Profile

The Cyprus Bureau of Shipping is a Cypriot Classification Society

It operates under a certified IS0 9001 system and it is fully authorized by several Administrations. 

Its primary purpose is to provide independent, unbiased and technically sound services in determining the fitness of the structural, mechanical and equipment aspects of ships and other marine structures. 

This is carried out by establishing and maintaining regulations and standards or applying acceptable rules for the design, construction' and operation of ships and other marine structures. 

Traditional classification services are offered by qualified and experienced surveyors through its exclusive offices. 

CBS has been in operation since 1987 and through its quality services has gained a reputable position in the market. 

CBS has established strategic alliances with organisations such as the Polish Register of Shipping (PRS) and the Bulgarian Register of Shipping (BRS). 

CBS services have been recognized and utilized by the Cyprus Government and more specifically by the Ministries of Communications and Works, Commerce and Industry, Labour, Defence and the Ministry of Justice, Department of Fisheries and Marine Research, Cyprus Ports Authority as well as by more than 600 shipping and other companies. 

In the years to come, CBS aims at offering its wider services to the marine and land industries with the purpose of further upgrading the standards of Cyprus shipping as well as assisting the land industry in general. 

Through its revised network of services CBS aims also to serve the needs and requirements of a fast changing business environment in a truly globalised world economy.


CBS Classification Mission:

The Mission of CBS is to satisfy the needs of its clients within its broader aim of enhancing the safety of life and property and protecting the environment. 

This is accomplished by providing classification, marine and industrial quality oriented services and by applying recognised standards and sound technical judgement.

 

CBS Classification Policy:

The Policy of CBS is to provide controlled and continually improving services to the Cyprus and International Marine and on-shore Industries in support of our mission, by providing unbiased personal services to all clients and responding to their individual requirements.
