Classification Services
Through its Rules and Regulations, CBS sets safety and environmental standards for the design, construction and operation of ships.
CBS RULES FOR THE CLASSIFICATION AND CONSTRUCTION OF SEA-GOING SHIPS are continually updated in order to take into consideration the latest developments and requirements.
Classification of New Constructions
The classification of new constructions begins with the submittal of plans and documents as specified in the CBS Rules for the Classification of vessels, to one of the CBS offices. All of the submitted documentation is reviewed by skilled engineers in order to ensure compliance with the CBS Rules. This includes Hull, Machinery and Equipment of vessels as covered by the Rules.
Classification of Existing Vessels and Other Marine Structures
Existing vessels and Other Marine Structures are classed by CBS and certified when confirmed that all arrangements satisfy the Rules of CBS and upon satisfactory completion of the relevant surveys.
CBS will perform periodic class surveys, in order to ensure that your ships remain compliant with the Rules, verifying their seaworthiness and operability and identifying and copying appropriately with any problems that may arise.
Classification of Vessels and Other Marine Structures undergoing major modifications
At any point of your ship’s service life, you may choose to Transfer your Ship to CBS.
